The Carriage House at The Stafford is the former royal mews and stables of the nobility in the 18th century, overlooking our quiet, cobbled courtyard.
We are delighted to have appointed New York-based interior-design company, Champalimaud Design, to oversee the renovation of our historic Carriage House Suites, which will include a transformation of the current split-level Guv’nor’s Suite into a stylish newly enhanced space, measuring 151square metres in total. The 13-room renovation is expected to be completed in April 2017.
The award-winning design team, led by internationally renowned designer, Alexandra Champalimaud, has envisioned an eclectic take on the hotel’s British heritage with designs that offer a contemporary twist on traditional English furnishings. The upcoming changes promise to impart an understated opulence to the Carriage House that befits the building’s status as a Grade II listed property. In keeping with its equestrian past, the ground floor rooms and suites will retain their stable doors.
